Wednesday, April 4, 2018 7-8:30 PM

Join us for an evening of exploration and discussion---this will be a hands-on workshop as well as an in-depth presentation, so prepare to engage your head, heart and hands!

Celia Knight has been teaching visual art to children for 17 years, 11 of them at Gates School in Acton. She has an M.A. in Art Education from Columbia University. Her philosophy of art education is rooted in the 8 Studio Habits of Mind developed through Harvard's Project Zero Studio Thinking Project. Her work with the Studio Habits will be featured in an upcoming book by Hogan, Hetland, Winner, and Jaquith, called Studio Thinking in the Elementary School. She approaches teaching art with a child-centered mindset that emphasizes exploration, thinking, expression, and community.
